Pastoral Scene (Fête Champêtre)
Sleeping Venus
The Tempest
Renaissance painter Giorgione is admired for his sensuous and sophisticated scenes. One painting attributed to the artist, which is titled Pastoral Scene (Fête Champêtre), is a delicious and fleshy feast for the eyes and mind. Another of the artist's memorable works is his Sleeping Venus. In addition, Giorgione also painted magnificent landscape backgrounds. This can be seen in the dramatic landscape of The Tempest, as well as in the backdrops of some of his other paintings.
