Born in 1912, architect Minoru Yamasaki is perhaps best known for the 110 story, twin towers of the World Trade Center (1966-1977) in New York City. Among his other noted works include the structurally impressive St. Louis Airport, as well as the ill-fated Pruitt-Igoe public housing project, also located in St. Louis.
