Charles Sumner Greene

Born on this day in 1868, Charles Sumner Greene along with his brother Henry, defined the Arts and Crafts Movement in Southern California. Influenced by Japanese design and craftsmanship, their work consisted primarily of residences characterized by low pitched roofs, massive timbers, and beautifully detailed joinery.
