Named for the New York Times Tower in 1904, Times Square is an area formed by the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in New York City. Known for its New Year's Eve celebration, the yearly ritual began when the New York Times moved into their new building on this night amid fireworks and fanfare. It is a tradition which has continued ever since.
