William Holabird

Born on this day in 1854, William Holabird was instrumental in the development of the modern skyscraper structure and what was soon to become the 'Chicago School' style. His firm, Holabird and Roche, is perhaps best known for its 1887 Tacoma Building and 1894 Marquette Building.
