a momentary vignette
Marc Chagall
July 7

Born on this day in 1887, artist Marc Chagall is perhaps best known for his painting style inspired by the Russian and Jewish folklore of his childhood. Chagall's works often demonstrated a sense of childlike wonder, such as the painted images he created to accompany the mythological story of Daphnis and Chloe. In addition to his wonderful paintings, Chagall also designed and created numerous works of stained glass, lithographs, and murals during his lifetime.
