September 7 An enduring symbol of the 1964 New York World's Fair, the Unisphere is a twelve story high representation of the earth constructed by the United States Steel Corporation. Located adjacent to the 'Fountain of the Continents', the Unisphere was designed to provide visitors with an unique glimpse of their world... a view of the earth as it would appear from some 6000 miles in space. |
